Skywatch Friday - Sunset on the Lake

Last week I was camping in the Bounday Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) in northern Minnesota. I took this photo just before dark. A yellow sunset over glass-like water - it was beautiful!

Big Neon

Some night neon from my "Signs" collection. This shot was taken around midnight, and without a tripod (because I didn't have one with me). A fairly successful experiment.

Multi-plane Reflections

If you stare at the photo long enough you may see that it has reflections from 3 angles. The deep window frame was lined with mirrors on all 4 sides, thus creating a bizzare view. Perfect for photogtraphy!

This was my first time on a photography outing with a group of Minneapolis area bloggers and photographers. We roamed the streets with cameras in hand, taking photos of everything from buildings, to birds, to landscapes. It was fun way to shoot the river/mill area of Minneapolis, and I came home with many, many good photos. I'll post more of the Minneapolis photos over the next few weeks.

People and Pets Sundays - Emma Cooling Off

Emma is our 10+ year old brittany spaniel. We adopted her 9 years ago from a local animal shelter. She was adopted and returned two times before we met her and brought her home. We decided to take a chance, and it worked out great for us. Emma is still happy to do a 5 mile walk, especially if it includes a dip in a pond or lake.

It's Swimming Season

After a long Winter, and equally long Spring, it is finally getting warm enough here in Minnesota to hit the local beach and do some swimming.

A Turquoise Classic

I was out kayaking, and this old turquoise fishing boat caught my attention. Surrounded by large ski boats, pontoons, and sleek bass boats, this little guy still floats proud in the water. I thought the reflection was pretty cool.
