Sky Lines

Some old utility lines running along a railroad track in Rosemount, MN. When I was a kid I used to climb abandoned utility poles like this and take the glass and ceramic insulators that the wires are attached to. We were sure that they would be valuable antiques. Unfortunately, I think you can still buy them for a couple dollars at most antique stores.

  1. It must have been fun but risky to climb those poles! And, once again you've hit the bullseye with this picture.. looks so perfect... with a perfect title.!

  2. It looks like a watercolor painting - the clouds are just so real they are unreal.
I don't think I've seen ones with additional vertical/cross brace beams. (You are right about insulators at the antique stores - probably about $10 - I wanted to get some really pretty blue ones but just could not figure out how to used them from interior or yard decorations.)
